FirstLight Health System was awarded the 2011 Minnesota e-Health Connectivity Grant for Health Information Exchange (HIE) on February 3^rd. FirstLight was awarded $10,000. This grant was designed to provide modest resources to help health care providers and hospitals in rural and underserved areas build HIE capacity and achieve HIE capability.

 FirstLight Health System Laboratory Department has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national health care accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.

In its continuing quest to provide community members with the highest quality of care, FirstLight Health System has improved its Emergency Medical Services with a new ambulance.

The first baby of 2012 arrived on Sunday, January 1st.  Elsie Elana Samuelson was born to Michael and Samantha Samuelson of Isle, MN.
